"The Blue Hearts have inked a deal with Militant Entertainment Records to distribute their new album "Jukebox Of Maladies" through Code7. The band have been searching for a label that supports disadvantaged communities and values a fair and just society. They believe Militant represents a challenge to the conventional political and business chic and fits with the rebel ethic that defines 'rock and roll'. Their new sound, dubbed 'neon rock' is a kaleidescope of brash rock n roll tones mixed with the sleazy intimacy of a late night speakeasy, with provocative lyrics set in hard rock pop-esque tunes, ethereal harmonies, electric violin and a whirlwind of guitar, pedal-steel & crashing surf ambience".
Militant label boss, Geoff Martin said: "We are pleased to be working with a band who have more than paid their dues, and who have created some of the most exciting new music we have heard this year"
INFO: Militant Entertainment Records is the spin off label from Glastonbury Festival's Left Field stage. Under the direction of Left Field supremo Geoff Martin and film-maker and firefighter Alan Miles, Militant Entertainment is the only UK record label under the complete control of a rebel Marxist faction.
The label works closely with trade unions and campaigning organisations - including our comrades at Love Music Hate Racism - to promote the global fight for economic and social justice."
After two years the new album, Jukebox Of Maladies is ready. The launch party will be at 100 Club in Oxford Street on October 21st (see the calander for details). Following the deal with Militant Entertainment and Code7 distribution the release date for the album has been set as November 1st 2010. It will be available in all UK shops and online at Amazon, HMV etc, as well as downloadable from itunes and many other online vendors.
